The North Mississippi Allstars don’t believe in squandering words. Within the first five songs at the Highline Ballroom on Tuesday night, the band’s lead singer and guitarist, Luther Dickinson, managed to wring several different connotations out of the verb “shake.” It first appeared as a frisky command. (“Shake what your mama gave you.”) Then it propelled a carnal boast. (“We gonna shake ’em on down.”) Its next usage was more descriptive: “She’s shakin’ like a leaf/Tremblin’ on a tree.” (continue at
